Christopher Columbus: The Man, The Myth, The Murderer

imagesHey, while you´re celebrating Columbus Day, remember this: Columbus and his gang never set foot on the mainland of America. NEVER! The place they did discover instead were the Bahamas in the Carribean which Columbus named Hispaniola. He thought he was in the territory of Southeast Asia where he set out for.

While there, Columbus and his gang (Spaniards released from prison for the voyage) raped all the young women, enslaved the male population who they didn´t murder, fed the local Indian´s babies to their vicious dogs and practically wiped out the 8 million native Indian civilization (only 60,000 survived). What a wonderful person to name a holiday after and to celebrate.

We have created a hero that did not exist, and we have lied to generations of people about his accomplishments. His contributions to our society are a figment of a collective imagination. Today, we honor Christopher Columbus , who opened the Atlantic slave trade and launched one of the most massive waves of genocide known in history. He did all this and more in the name of God and Christianity.

In truth, Columbus really has nothing to do with America at all. Using him as a symbol of liberty and independence is a grave insult to those who have fought for the same. Rather than teaching blatant lies to our children, we should use him as an example of the cruelty and inhumanity of those who torture and kill innocent people under the guise of subduing the enemy.
